*NOTE: Due to road construction, the West Rim Drive is currently closed between Rim Village and North Junction. The six-mile section of road will be closed on Sundays at 9:00 PM through Fridays at 4:00 PM. The road will be open for travel on Friday evenings, all day on Saturdays, and most of the day on Sundays. The temporary weekday closure is estimated to continue until sometime in September.

Guests traveling within the park will need to use the EAST RIM DRIVE and will need to allow extra time if traveling to Cleetwood Cove from either Annie Creek or Rim Village.

Weather permitting, the Wizard Island Shuttles and Standard Lake cruises are scheduled to operate daily through September 17, 2017. There will be no Wizard Island tours offered for the rest of 2017.

All seats will be sold through our self-service kiosks located in the lobby of Crater Lake Lodge and inside the Annie Creek Gift Shop at Mazama Village, starting 24 hours prior to the tour departure time.

A FANTASTIC PERSPECTIVE OF THE LAKE

Crater Lake is the deepest lake in the United States, and one of the deepest in the world. One of the best ways to experience Crater Lake National Park is to take a Standard Lake cruise around Crater Lake, or for the truly adventurous, choose one of the options to spend time on Wizard Island. Whichever tour you choose, you will need to hike approximately 1.1 miles down to the boat dock. Due to the strenuous nature of the hiking requirements to access the boat dock, these tours are not recommended for anyone with medical or physical problems that may limit them from this exertion.

The Standard Lake Cruise will allow you to learn about the history, geology, and cultural significance of the lake, while viewing the natural beauty of the caldera from the boat.

The Wizard Island tour option includes morning and afternoon departures, and allows for time to hike to the summit of Wizard Island and enjoy the phenomenal panoramic view. Either departure includes the full lake tour and three hours at Wizard Island.

The Wizard Island shuttle option also includes morning and afternoon departures, and allows for time to hike to the summit of Wizard Island and enjoy the phenomenal panoramic view, or simply fish or even swim. The Wizard Island shuttle is for those guests wanting to go to and from Wizard Island, without a tour of the lake.

Schedules provided are based upon weather permitting and are subject to change. It is recommended to allow at least one and a half hours (90-minutes) prior to the boat trip for travel from the Lodge/Rim Village to Cleetwood Cove. If tours are canceled, we will do our best to accommodate guests with advance reservations on the next available tour or we will issue a refund of the deposit.

This hike can be very strenuous, as it drops approximately 700-feet, and it may take 30 to 45 minutes to descend the trail. These cruises offer a fantastic perspective of the lake as they travel counter-clockwise around the perimeter of Crater Lake.
