Is the Park and Lodging open year-round?
Portions of Crater Lake National Park are open year-round, including the Rim Village Café and Gift Shop. Both Crater Lake Lodge and Mazama Village are open seasonally. Please visit the What to Know page for detailed information on dates.
What should I expect the weather to be?
Weather plays a dramatic role at Crater Lake National Park with an average annual snowfall of over 530-inches. It generally begins to accumulate each year in October and doesn't melt in most places until the following June.
Summer weather is more predictable, with nice dry days with temperatures around 62°-70°F. The nights do get colder dropping into the mid 30°'s to low 40°'s. Occasionally there may be days in August when the lake is completely obscured by fog.
Visitors to Crater Lake National Park should be prepared for any kind of weather during any time of the year.
We advise you to check weather Web sites for current forecasts as the weather can fluctuate.

Is there cell phone service?
There is no reliable cellular service within the Park.
Is there a business center?
We do not offer a business center.
Is there an entrance fee to enter the Park?
The National Park Service currently charges $25 per private vehicle and an additional $5 per person in the car at the entrance gate; however, it is only $10 if you purchase a 7 day pass. When entering by foot, bicycle, motorcycle, or commercial vehicles the fee will vary. Please visit the National Park Service Web site for the most current fee information.
Where is the nearest location to get fuel?
Mazama Village has self-service fuel pumps that are available May through October during business hours of the Mazama Village General Store.
How far in advance can I make lodging reservations?
We are currently accepting reservations for stays up to 13 months in advance. On the first of each month, we will begin accepting reservations for the entire month of the following year. For example, on March 1, 2008 we will accept reservations through March 31, 2009. For more information, please review our Reservation Overview page.
Do I need dining room reservations?
Reservations are required for dinner at Crater Lake Lodge Dining Room. They are not required for breakfast or lunch. Please visit Crater Lake Lodge's Dining Room page for current information about dinner reservations.
Reservations are not required for Annie Creek Restaurant or the Rim Village Café.
Do you have a waitlist for room reservations?
We do not offer a waitlist for reservations.
Since you don't have a waitlist, should I check back every day for a cancellation?
Cancellations do occur; however, they can occur at random with limited success in obtaining the dates and accommodations desired. If your first choice is not available, rather than scheduling your vacation around the possibility of a cancellation, we recommend checking alternate dates instead. If you want to continue to check for cancellations, you may do so by visiting our Check Availability-Book Online page.
Why can't I find my reservation through the Web site reservation system?
Currently our online reservation system will only allow modifications or cancellations to reservations booked initially through our Web site.
Can I cook in my room?
Cooking is not allowed in any of the guestrooms Crater Lake Lodge or the cabins at Mazama Village.
Are pets allowed in the guestrooms?
Pets are not allowed in any of the guestrooms at Crater Lake Lodge or the cabins at Mazama Village.
